Round Island opps half ride !

Kai so suay the night before we cycled till very late and after slept for a few hrs, he was told to report for mobilization in FBO.

Met Kai, Rachel & coy at ECP BK.

Inclusive of me there were 6 riders.

We started from ECP BK

Reached Stadium KFC at 10pm -> Nicol Highway -> Shenton Way -> Rest at Vivocity.

Vivocity -> Alexander Rd -> Long stretch of Pasir Panjang Rd -> Roundabout before entering AYE TUAS.

Roundabout -> Singapore Science Centre -> Lakeside MRT -> turned right towards Jurong Shell Station.

Rested quite a while chatting. Then i got a stupid suggestion of cycling to Kranji Dam as its a very nice place, overlooking JB. All agreed, I regretted

Jurong Shell Station -> Jalan Bahar -> HQ SCDF -> Muslim Cemetery -> Chinese Cemetery -> the never ending Tengah Airbase Rd -> rest at bus-stop opposite Ama Keng.

Bus-stop opposite Ama Keng -> Sungei Gedong camp -> turn right to Neo Tiew Crescent -> multiple bending roads -> passed BBC Radio broadcast station before reaching Kranji Dam at 0108.

There we had a very long rest, chat alittle and took some photos, damn didn't bring my camera. Last time during NS, we used to deploy at the carpark, had many wonderful memories of that place.

Kranji Dam -> Kranji MRT -> Central Near Woodlands Checkpoint. We had a supper at a 24h coffeeshop there. I had to give up as my neck was hurting so much to continue riding. We bid the rest goodbye as they continued the ride, while we removed our wheels from our bicycle and boarded a taxi.

The moment I boarded the taxi, I fell asleep while Kai was chatting with the driver.
We planned to stop at Eunos MRT station where we would cycle home as we had limited cash.

Upon reaching Eunos MRT, Kai paid the driver, however the driver took some time before saying the amount was not enough. Kai then fork out the extras. However he suspected the driver had knowingly pocketed the money and claimed the fare was insufficient.

Please beware of a big Indian taxi driver by the name of David, as he might do the same thing again. AS we were dead tired we did not notice his taxi license number or the taxi company.

An advice to all do not pay the taxi driver unless he switches on the light inside. If you suspect anything fishy, take note of his name, features, hirer's name , taxi license number and the taxi company. This driver had abused our trust by cheatingus when we are vulnerable.

BEWARE VERY LONG POST

4th Nov marks my first every written exams since my NS days. I am very appreciative of the company to allow me to go on a study leave to focus on my revision.

4th Nov is also Kai's birthday. We are taking our Security paper. I reached Expo earlier and managed to saw Hsien Joo and Royston. The atmosphere in the hall is so dead silent. The moment the examiner says you may start writing its time to empty what you learnt.

Overall the paper was manageable as the revision lecture was sufficient. After the paper accompany Kai to AMK to have lunch at S11, Japanese food. Then we waited for Rachel to come, as she wanted to test ride bicycle and Kai had to collect his clipless road shoes. After leaving C2C bike shop, we hang around at AMK Macdonalds till very late.

6th Nov, my C++ Programming paper though it was open book, its so damn tricky!!! The questions are more difficult than my assignment. At the end of paper Benson and I could only just complain. He had to wait for the 2nd paper at 4pm whereas I headed home as I would be taking the second module next semester.

10th Nov, my least confident paper ICT209 and ICT210. Exam is conducted at UniSIM campus. These modules had so much topics to cover, that its impossible to revise all !!! Benson, his cousin and I were seated for this exam.

1pm ICT209 Paper. I never encountered such difficult paper in my life before. What i studied from past year papers, tutorials and assignments none came out. The lecturer is a master to come out questions on such untouched topics !!!

4pm ICT210 Last chance to score well. Surprisingly the lecturer is humane enough to set more humane questions.

Finally time to format my brain and enjoy !!!

I met Bandar at Bugis for dinner, as it was his treat for my birthday.

We had dinner at Ministry of Food.


Bandar's order Beef Shabu Shabu, he told me come here twice a week just to eat this. Too bad I don't eat beef.

My order Fried Pork Cutlet drenched in eggs, fried chicken and rice set. Taste not too bad.

Desserts some strawberry milkshake. Taste not bad !!!

My dessert always full of color, varieties and flavours !!! You know the whole bowl, which is the killer factor? That ice-cream is so milky and thick unlike normal whipped cream. Next time definitely would come here and order this !!!Whats inside : Japanese ice-cream, peaches, strawberries, Japanese red beans, Japanese Mochi and some jelly at the bottom.

11th Nov marks my 24th Birthday !!!
1 year older again haizzz.

Finally can wake up in the morning without any worries and being King for the day.
I always wanted to do something special so Kai told me he donated blood before. Then i tell myself why not since I got nothing to do.

However the fear held me back till i finally left the house at 3pm. Took the train and alighted at Outram MRT Station. Then i walked towards HSA building. As it was a weekday there was not much people. I was asked to fill a long form and waited to see a doctor. After the doctor took my blood pressure and weight , I was told to proceed another station to have my blood sampled. Even though it was a small prick on the finger, I can never forget the pain.

After the blood sampling, I was told to proceed to another room. This room is rather big with many beds for the donors. As it was my virgin donation, the staff were very friendly making me less tensed.

Suddenly from no where, the staff emerged with a cake and sang birthday song. It was so touching for me as I never had a proper birthday celebration. The nurse rubbed some anesthetic cream on my arm and inserted the needle, however I did not feel anything. After 20mins i had donated my first bag of blood. Before i left the staff gave me a bag containing some presents and the birthday cake. Can't wait to donate blood again in February.

Washed up and headed out to Clark Quay.
There waited for XX and Jim to have birthday dinner. The night before I had selected to eat near Clark Quay for a different experience at "The Tapas Tree".

Its located by the river side with a live band playing. I wanted to try the Paella (Spanish seafood rice) therefore decided to eat here.

Chicken, mushrooms in white sauce not bad.

Grilled prawns, no very nice

Potatoes and sausages. The sausages are salty.

Waited 40mins for the Paella. The rice is too soggy and nt much variety. Only eggs, mussles,squid and sausages. Next time gonna try Manhattan Fish Market heard better.

12th Nov

Breakfast at Amoy Street.
Lor Mee King's Lor Mee.
My mum's nasi lemak beside the Lor Mee Stall.

After breakfast went to my grandmother house at Tanjong Pagar within walking distance. Stayed there awhile watching some DVDs which my cousin left.

Dinner decided to eat at Yhing Thai @ Purvis Street after my sis and mum was poisoned by my cousin who brought them there.

Fist dish - Papaya Salad very nice. Sweet, sour and fragrant. Open your taste buds for more!
An expensive and small bowl of harmless looking Tom Yum soup which packs a punch !!! Worth trying if you like real Tom Yum soup !!!
Die die must try boneless chicken wings $3 ea. The stuffing inside is chicken meat, mushrooms and some vegetables !!!
Second die die must try flavourful Olive rice, I don;t know how to describe the taste but fantastic !!!
Fried fish with Mango sauce. To me this is a let down as its the most expensive dish and the sauce given is too little. But full of fish meat.
Pad Thai, I told my mum to try this Thailand Char Kway Teow.
Desserts - Durian with glutinous rice.
Desserts - Thailand Halo Halo, I also don;t know what is inside. To me its pink ice. You should have tried Philippines Halo Halo more stuff and very colorful like the Filipinos.
The killer bill. My verdict is the food here is expensive $6 for small bowl of Tom Yum soup, rice and noodles dishes from $15 onwards. However its an experience you must try.

Hello Manila !!!

It was a very enjoyable 9 days business trip to work in Manila with my fellow colleagues and really appreciate the company for giving me this life-time oppotunity.
